Cookbook Cooking: How to Make Your First Dish

They say that a way to man’s heart is through his stomach, but it actually also applies to women as well. This is why it is essential for people to learn how to cook. However, not everyone has parents or friends that are willing to guide them. Moreover, not everyone is the best teacher. If you want to learn how to make your first dish, you can learn from the experts – through their cook books.

Why use cookbooks?

There are many cookbooks online and offline, but one thing is for sure – they are made by professionals. In other words, you are reading expert advice formulated from experience and direct wisdom. Nothing beats that for credibility.

Also, information in cookbooks are standard or measured. As long as you follow the given measurements for the ingredients and follow the instructions, you will be able to make a decent dish. Once you master the basic set-up, you can start changing the portions and add your own style. This type of learning gives you freedom.

Lastly, it is best for secret studying. If you don’t want other people to find out you’re still learning, cookbooks are the perfect go-to place for help. They won’t judge and they surely won’t tell. You can relax if you make a mess several times. Just continue to try and you will be able to make the dish eventually.

Tips for a Successful First Try

  • Always follow the measurements and be as accurate as you can be. This means you need to get measuring cups and spoons, as well as similar tools in order to do the preparation exactly as it is said in the book.
  • Do not skimp on the ingredients. Follow the list to the dot. You can do modifications later on when you’ve successfully made the dish by the book.
  • Only refer to trusted books. If you are looking at online references, make sure that the website is well-received by readers. For books, use one that any of your family or acquaintances have used.

Lastly, the best weapon you can bring when you’re cooking is presence of mind. You need to focus and don’t worry that you’ll end up failing. Trust in your ability to follow directions and you will be able to make your first dish in no time.

Waking up early and going to the kitchen has always been a bad dream for me. Every morning I want something quick, easy yet fulling so that I can pass my day at work easily. I have shared 3 of my easiest and quickest recipes that anyone having busy sunrise can make like a child’s play.

This is the most easiest and kids loved recipe for the breakfast. The method and the things you are going to need are written below. This recipe will make 4 rolls.

Coat evenly on both sides and fry in butter on medium heat until golden brown. Coat the sandwich in cinnamon sugar mixture. Eat up and adore.

Baked Granola bars

This recipe is healthiest of all above and still delicious. These bars can be made for whole week and can be enjoyed every morning with a cup of coffee or milk. I give this to my school going kids. This keeps them energetic for the day. Things you will need are as under.

Best Flooring Choice for a Restaurant Kitchen

When choosing a floor for your restaurant kitchen you really don’t have a ton of options.  The most common types of floors chosen for commercial use are….

  • quarry tile
  • epoxy over concrete
  • solid hardwood

Quarry Tile–  This type of floor is probably the most common of all.  Reason being is that it is relatively cheap and it is very slip resistant which makes it a great choice for a kitchen where the floor is prone to getting wet from spills and accidents.  The downside of this choice is that it is pretty ugly in my opinion.  The other issue with it is that the grout in between the tiles can be stained fairly easily if you do not do a meticulous job of keeping it clean.  Sometimes a sealer can help with this quite a bit but the sealer will need to be reapplied every 6 months to a year.

Solid Hardwood– Believe it or not, we have seen a lot of bars in the area incorporate hardwood floors in their kitchen.  It is my understanding that the only way that this works is to use an industrial grade floor and polyurethane that can stand up to high traffic.  This may not be the greatest choice but some restaurants have an open floor plan where the guests can see the kitchen and it most definitely looks much nicer than the other options.  On the plus side, this type of floor gives you the future ability to refinish your floor if it starts to get old and scratched up.  You would also have the choice of changing your stain color in the future if that was what you wanted.

Epoxy Over Concrete– This option might be the most cost effective solution but that is probably only true if your kitchen was built on a concrete slab.  Sometimes it is necessary to do some leveling to the concrete depending on how good the original contractor was.  Epoxy coatings are applied directly over your cement floor and similar to quarry tile, they are very slip resistant.  If the job is done right then they also hold up very well.  The one caveat to this is… please don’t DIY this type of project with the products that your local home improvement store sells.  Those kits are not meant for industrial use and they will not even come close to comparing to what a professional would use.

I know that there are other options out there but these are the most common.  Do you think there is one that I missed?  If so please comment below and tell me about it.
